Nestled at the foot of the South Downs National Park, Tottington Manor is an independent boutique hotel and award-winning restaurant with parts that dates back to 1641.
The property is a Grade II listed building with a fascinating history. During World War II, the manor was requisitioned by the Ministry of Defence and used as the headquarters for a secret, underground Sussex resistance network (the Auxiliary Units), complete with hidden bunkers and escape tunnels.
I have had the pleasure of eating (and staying) at Tottington Manor and can attest that we will be in for a treat. We will be enjoying a multi-course seasonal Autumn tasting menu for lunch, paired with Sussex spirit-based drinks from Spirit of the Downs.
The venue is located about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from Hassocks and Shoreham stations but we have been offered a fantastic deal to stay over that includes breakfast and is not much more than a return taxi ride. Use this link to get 25% off room rates. I’ve booked mine!
